The City Palace situated in the heart of the old City occupies about one seventh of the old city area. The palace is a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture, houses the seven storied Chandra Mahal in the centre, which affords a fine view of the gardens and the city. The Diwan-E-Am (Hall of public audience) has intricate decorations and collections of manuscripts; The Diwan-E-Khas (Hall of private audience) has a marble paved gallery. The Mubarak Mahal has a rich collection of costumes and textiles. Sileh Khana has a collection of armory and weapons.
The Jantar Mantar built in 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, is an astounding Observatory. The huge masonry instruments were used to study the movement of constellations and stars in the sky. Enormous sun-dial still provides accurate time, which is subject to daily corrections.
The Hawa Mahal built in 1799, by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, is the most recognizable monument of Jaipur. The 5 storied stunning semi-octagonal monument has 152 windows with over hanging latticed balconies and is a fine piece of Rajput architecture. Originally designed for the royal ladies to watch and enjoy the processions and other activities, on the street below. Now it houses a well laid out museum. The display “Jaipur past and present” is the special feature of this newly setup museum.
Later, visit Chokhi Dhani, for an authentic Rajasthani village experience. Enjoy delicious vegetarian and non vegetarian Rajasthani food, shop for handicrafts and souvenirs, ride on camels and elephants and have the time of your life.

Day 02: Jaipur to Ranthambhore (By Surface 145 Kms, 03 – 04 Hrs)
In the morning after early breakfast at hotel depart for Ranthambore, arriving there by noon. On arrival, check into your hotel and freshen up.
Ranthambhore National Park, earlier a princely game conserve is the scene where the celebrated Indian Tiger is best seen. It lies on the junction of Aravali and Vindhyas just 14 Kms from Sawai Madhopur in Eastern Rajasthan. It sprawls over a varying and undulating landscape. The scenery changes dramatically from gentle and steep slopes of the Vindhyas and sharp and conical hills of the Aravali.
A tenth century fort also blends amicably with the background. The rugged park terrain alternates between dry deciduous forest, open grassy meadow, dotted by several lakes like – Padam Talab, Malik Talab and Raj Bagh and rivers that are only made passable by rough roads built and maintained by the Forest Service. The tiger is not the only attraction at Ranthambore although it is the one park resident that people come to see. A variety of birds including Owlets, the ubiquitous Langur (monkey), Leopard, Caracal, Hyena, Jackal, Jungle Cat, marsh Crocodiles, Wild Boar, Bears and various species of Deer are the other attractions.
The park gates open an half hour before sunrise and close half hour after sunset. The timings are vigorously imposed and no exceptions are made to this rule.
Depart for a 3 hour safari immediately after lunch at 1415 hours. Canter Safari is an exciting option here with high chances of spotting the big cat as well as photographing it.
Excursions around the park give valuable insights into the culture and tradition of the local people especially the Meena tribes. One can also look for medieval splendors in the form of forts, havelis (mansion), and palaces that are scattered throughout it.
Return to your hotel for tea. Enjoy a Puppet show during the cultural events organized for your evening today.
